Something New
I’ve been blogging on WordPress.com for so long now I hardly know how to start off this first post on Substack. I am excited to explore a new platform and share my thoughts with a new audience. In this post, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite WordPress posts [well, there are over 800 blog posts on my Wordpress blog going back to 2010 so you can check it out here], and how lately they have inspired me to think about writing on Substack. I’ll also be sharing what you can expect from my blog on Substack in the future.
Now if you’re curious about what I just wrote above, I will admit that after writing the first sentence which is mine [that also includes the bracketed area where I mentioned the 800+ blog posts], parts of the paragraph—with tweaking from me—came from a response I got on Bing Chat (A.I.) from my inquiry as to how to “break the ice” in my first post on Substack.
Surprised?
I suppose I should start off by stating I am a fan of A.I. and all things “techie.” :-) In fact, very recently, I published three blog posts on my WordPress blog on the subject of A.I. at these three links:
The Brave New World of A.I. (published on January 26, 2023)
Where Do We Go From Here? (published on January 27, 2023)
Of God and Artificial Intelligence (published on February 3, 2023
If you look at any of the links above from my WordPress blog (I actually have two blogs that are linked together on WordPress), you’ll also notice that I come from a Christian worldview, but don’t let that scare you off if you’re not so inclined.
Regarding this blog on Substack, I’d like to make this blog into a weekly newsletter. I’m not sure yet how it is going to look and feel as I’m used to putting together posts in a different format on WordPress (and I’ll continue to stay with that format on WordPress).
There is so much going on in our world today, and finding the right niche for newsletter topics is my focus on Substack. I regularly read from a wide variety of news sources, and my main areas of interest include current events, technology as well as faith and spirituality. Also, I worked at colleges and universities (secular and Christian, private and public) for over 20+ years, and I keep up with the news on what is occurring in that arena, too.
Thanks for reading my first post regarding my new venture on Substack!
